It can be a shawl, a cape and a poncho as well. By not sewing up the front you can have a wonderful shawl, whip st up the front creates a poncho with a nice collar. Add fringe to set the accent on the bottom of this shawl/Poncho or scallops. To make for a newborn, use baby or sport-weight yarn and an F or G hook.
